We hope that this letter finds you and your loved ones well. These are extraordinary times. And, in the midst of these times, it is truly inspiring and uplifting to hear of and witness the many incredible stories of people of all ages rising up to respond in service to others with generosity, care, creativity and compassion. Difficult times often reveal the incredible goodness that lives in each of us, restoring faith and hope.
It offers us all the opportunity to reflect on who we are, and how we might be called to action. As many of you already know, our Catholic Action motto is “Using our Gifts
to Serve our Neighbor”. Catholic Action’s purpose is to connect/match expressed needs in the community with identified skills, gifts and expertise offered by
volunteers and community organisations. Though the doors of our office are presently closed in response to Government and Diocesan COVID-19 measures and protocol, we want you to know that we are still here for you and are ready and willing to serve and facilitate service in whatever way we can at this time.
So, we would like to know: Is there anything that you need right now – either as an individual, a family, or a community organisation? Or, are you wondering if there is any way that you could help? Accompanying this letter is a link to a form (Catholic Action- COVID19 Mobilization) that can be filled out and sent to us. In this form, you are welcome to specify either a particular need you or your organisation may have; or you may specify if you are interested in offering time, talent, treasure, or expertise to help meet the current needs. Be
assured that one of our team members will contact you in a timely fashion to help match up the needs with offers to help. Please feel free to share/forward this message with others within your community and social networks.
Let us stay united with each other and the world in prayer. To support us in this effort, St. Luke’s Parish has offered this link to a prayer entitled “A Prayer Amid an Epidemic” by Kerry Webber https://st-luke.ca/upload/COVID19_prayer.pdf.
Please know that we, your Board of Directors and your Executive Director at Catholic Action are thinking about you and praying for you in this time of challenge and opportunity.
